Enjoy a special photography break in Kent and East Sussex.

Kent provides a wonderful variety of photographic opportunities. From the unique, other-worldly coastal landscapes of Dungeness, loved by artists and photographers, to the rural scenery and ancient churches of Romney Marsh, it offers something for everyone. In Sussex, the beach and dunes of Camber Sands, the picturesque cobbled streets of old Rye and the archetypal 14th Century moated caste at Bodiam complete the varied itinerary for our weekend.

Itinerary

This may change depending on weather conditions

Friday

Meet in hotel at 2.00 p.m. for welcome and introductions, followed by a short walk and some late afternoon photography. Join us later for a welcome drink in the bar and dinner in the hotel.

Saturday

A full day of photography exploring different coastal landscapes and capturing the verdant colours and character of this distinctive area.

The itinerary may vary depending on tide times, allowing us to do some low tide beach photography on Camber beach. The dunes and beach of Camber provide a total contrast to the barren, unusual landscape of Dungeness, with it's unique flora and strange collection of dwellings. We will explore Romney Marsh, experiencing its classic landscape, as well as visiting some of its historic small churches. Finally, we will visit Rye, one of the best preserved medieval towns in England.

Sunday

This morning our focus will be on autumn or spring colour and we will either explore some woodland or visit more formal gardens full of autumn, spending on which of these will offer better photographic opportunities at the time.  Our final stop will be at the quintessentially English, moated Bodiam Castle.

Both days will begin, weather permitting, with the opportunity to get out early and enjoy the dawn light on the coast and, if possible, we will add in a sunset.
