Enjoy a special photography break in Kent and East Sussex
Kent & East Sussex provide a wonderful variety of photographic opportunities. From the unique, other-worldly coastal landscapes of Dungeness, loved by artists and photographers, to the rural scenery and ancient churches of Romney Marsh, it offers something for everyone. In Sussex, the beach and dunes of Camber Sands, the picturesque cobbled streets of old Rye, the views from the spectacular Firehills in Hastings Country Park, and the archetypal 14th Century moated castle at Bodiam complete the varied itinerary for our weekend.
This may change depending on weather conditions
Meet in hotel at 2.00 p.m. for welcome and introductions, followed by a short stroll into the ancient fishing port of Rye for some afternoon photography in this beautiful town, including a visit to its Medieval castle with its wonderful views over the surrounding landscapes. Join us later for a welcome drink in the bar and dinner in the hotel.
A full day of photography exploring different coastal landscapes and capturing the verdant colours and character of this distinctive area.
We start at Hastings Country Park -.a fabulous nature reserve with stunning coastal scenery situated within the High Weald Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Next, to the spectacular dunes and beach at Camber, before we find the total contrast of the barren, weird landscapes at Dungeness, with it's unique flora and strange collection of dwellings.
Finally, we will explore the iconic wetlands at Romney Marshes, experiencing its classic landscape, as well as visiting some of its historic small churches.
*The itinerary may vary depending on tide times, allowing us to do some low tide beach photography on Camber beach.
This morning , after checking out, we take a 5 minute drive down to Rye Harbour for a short walk along the coastal path in the beautiful Nature Reserve. We then head inland for our final stop at the quintessentially English, moated Bodiam Castle, a real photographic gem to end our weekend.
Both days will begin, weather permitting, with the opportunity to get out early and enjoy the dawn light on the coast and, if possible, we will add in a sunset.
